Cosmetic Teeth Contouring, Bonding and Reshaping

Cosmetic contouring and bonding are dental treatments which are used to improve the appearance of teeth that are crooked, chipped, cracked/fractured, pointy or worn out.

Composite dental bonding is a procedure in which plastic resin is applied and sculpted into the desired shape, then trimmed and polished for a natural appearance.

This is suitable for open areas like gaps, chipped teeth, or areas that need an increase in tooth surface, such as worn out teeth.

Composite bonding can be used in these areas to increase tooth length without any damage to the underlying tooth.

I had composite done yesterday and this was with Dr Mo, along with the nurse Shannon who was really supportive. I am very pleased with my treatment. Dr Mo and Shannon were very supportive particularly as I had never had any such treatment before and so I was a little nervous beforehand. Dr Mo explained the entire process during the consultation and I left feeling very satisfied after treatment which only took 20 minutes! I would definitely recommend this service for anyone thinking about their treatment!

I have just started my Invisalign journey with Smile Rooms, they have been so amazing so far and so so very accommodating for a nervous dentist goer! Dr Yousef is very very very calm and understanding of my worries and even stops to ask me if I am okay as he can see how nervous I was during my pre Invisalign treatment. I had been suffering from tooth pain for several nights before I went to see Dr. Ajay. After examining me, he quickly identified the infection and made a clear decision that the tooth needed to be extracted. Dr. Ajay was extremely skilled, and the whole extraction was done very quickly with virtually no discomfort. He also gave me his number and asked me to let him know how I was doing afterwards. What surprised and impressed me most was that, just three hours after the extraction, Dr. Ajay personally called me to check that I was alright. He is genuinely a very caring dentist who makes you feel reassured and helps ease your anxiety, especially when you are facing a stressful dental problem.

Problems relating to the surface of your teeth are often superficial problems, but they can also worsen with time and cause issues in later in life.

We also use enamel clay that hardens to the strength of tooth enamel in moulding, reshaping and bonding procedures to help improve the appearance of:

Chipped teeth

Uneven tooth surfaces

Pitted tooth surfaces

Worn down areas

Slightly overlapping teeth.

We can offer teeth bonding, even if your tooth is very badly chipped or worn. This is because the treatment affects the outside of your tooth and does not require any further drilling or abrasion in order to be carried out.

By covering your affected teeth in the enamel coating, you are ensuring another layer of protection, which is also great for worn down and slightly overlapping teeth, as they are more susceptible to decay

To find out whether teeth re–shaping and bonding is the ideal orthodontic treatment for you, our expert cosmetic dentists will offer you a consultation.

During the consultation, you will be able to explain exactly what you would like your teeth to look like, and how you want to reach your end result. Our dentists will then offer you a range of options to achieve your desired outcome.

If teeth re–shaping and bonding is the best option for you, first we may take an x-ray of your teeth to ensure there is no underlying damage caused by existing chips or wear.

We will then be able to reshape your teeth. Re-shaping is a pain-free procedure that usually only takes around an hour to complete. As we will only affect the surface of your teeth with enamel clay, you will not need anaesthetic.
